The teeny tiny units aren’t ear plugs nor are they truly wireless earbuds that stream music, Sleepbuds are earbuds designed to simply give you the best sleep ever. Starting with the frame, Sleepbuds are very light, weighing a mere 1.4 grams and measuring just over 1 centimeter wide and tall – the smallest product Bose has ever made. Each earbuds is fit with StayHear+ Sleep tips which secure the buds in your ears. They’re described as soft, pliable, and virtually weightless. Bose promises that all materials, shape and form were optimized specifically for rest, so they feel great and stay in all night, regardless of how you sleep.

So, how do Sleepbuds ensure a good night’s rest? Sleepbuds are designed with Bose’s noise-masking technology that when paired with soothing sounds to block, cover, and replace the most common noises that interfere with sleep, users should be able to pass out in no time. Bose Sleepbuds come with 10 pre-loaded “sleeptracks” that mirror the frequencies of snoring, neighbors, dogs, traffic, and more. It does this by hiding them beneath a layer of relaxing audio. Talk about innovative!

It’s more than ambient sound or white noise. You can’t achieve it by simply turning up the volume on calming songs. According to Bose sound engineer Daniel Lee, “Depending on the situation, it’s more effective than active noise cancelling.”

If you’re worried about connectivity and how Sleepbuds could possibly stay connected to your phone throughout the night, the exterior has a laser-etched antenna for reliable connectivity to a phone or tablet. They also support a 16 hour battery life along with the rechargeable case.

P.S. If you’re wondering why these buds sound familiar or if you are pretty sure they’ve already been released, it’s because you are half right. Bose introduced Sleepbuds in March 2017 via Indiegogo. Customers who bought at that time received their first prototypes which they fine tuned and tweaked based off of those customers reviews. Fast forward to June 2018 and we’ve got the finalized edition. The initial backers on the project will receive the new units once they ship free of charge.

Bose Noise Masking Sleepbuds cost $249 and are available in the U.S. and Canada now.
