ADV.Sound is back on Kickstarter to launch the newest addition to their hi-fi family. Meet GT-R Planar Magnetic Headphone. The campaign has 10 days left and needs a little more than $26,000 USD left to bring this headphone to market.

ADV.Sound Seeks Crowdfunding for GT-R Planar Magnetic Headphone

GT-R seems like a promising make from ADV. Sound. The company out of Great Neck, NY typically raises funding for their headphones on Kickstarter, with this planar magnetic being no exception. The previous being M4 In-Ear Headphones for Musicians and Accessport Hi-Res Audio Amplifier for iPhone 7.

GT-R is a full-size open-back planar magnetic headphone carefully crafted to support long listening sessions. The ear cushions are made from thick exquisite protein leather and filled with super-soft memory ear pads while the headband is both padded and adjustable. In addition, the ear cups rotate 180 degrees which allows users to find the best positioning against their head. It is also constructed with premium high-strength steel for prolonged durability. “Each part is meticulously prepared and precision- assembled with near-zero tolerance for play,” explains ADV.Sound.

GT-R features 65 mm flat diaphragm drivers with a flat serpentine voice coil, and stacked high strength magnets. This design provides tighter bass response, quicker detail, and low distortion. Thanks to the open-back frame, the sound stage is that much wider and expansive making for a much more realistic listening experience. At an impedance of 32 ohms the headphone reaches a frequency response of 20Hz-20kHz. The quality of sound has been reviewed by a number of audiophiles including Head-Fi’s Jude Mansilla who said… “Perhaps it’s the softer, smoother characteristic up top, but I find the GT-R to be quite easy and enjoyable to listen to.”

In addition, GT-R received an official, independent measurement from Head-fi.org using their state-of-the-art headphone measuring system to prove just how top-notch the headphone is. See graphs below:
