Moshi, known for their consumer products and appliances, has created a pair of on-ear headphones – meet Avanti Moshi on-ear headphones.

This release is their first on-ear model and it is certainly going for a form and function execution. The minimalist design is chic. With a lightweight headband comprised of stainless steel and the somewhat free-form looking ear cushions in shades of either Caramel Beige or Burgundy Red, the overall frame looks polished. The plush leather ear cushions are lightweight and comfortable. They are also set at an angle to minimize the amount of pressure placed on the ears. Digital Trends highlights their only vice as the wearer’s ears getting a little hot. Otherwise, no complaints.

The extenders – which are also chic – are stainless steel sliders with the left and right ear indicators on the inside of the headband.

The detachable cable is just as sleek, featuring a mic and single silver button that acts as the remote. The cable plugs into both the left and right ear cushion.

These luxurious looking cans use 40 mm neodymium drivers to reach a frequency response of 15 – 22,000 Hertz on an impedance of 32 ohms.

But how does Avanti sound? We have yet to get our hands on these babies, but Digital Trends has. Their reviewer describes the sound as enjoyable, slightly bright, and balanced in bass reach. “The entire treble and upper midrange region was vibrant and full of life… but the brightness is refreshing,” writes digital Trends. “Midrange goes mostly uncolored, rendering clear, intelligible vocals with just a bit of forward presence in the mix” and “the Avanti have a good amount of bass present, just without the in-your-face attitude,” they also add.

The headphones are shipped in a carry case that is just a nice as the headset – which is to be expected as Moshi is a retailer of accessories and appliances.

Avanti is now available for purchase at Moshi.com for $199.95.
