Update August 21,2016: Axum Gear earbuds have launched their Indiegogo crowd funding campaign and have successfully reached their goal of $15,000 in less than an hour. To date, Axum has successfully raised 393 percent of their goal at a total of $58,980. The sporty earbuds modeled after the same refined audio system featured in luxury cars promise to deliver an exceptional listening experience while providing optimal comfort in a sleek and light chassis. Boasting a water-proof resistant frame, interested backers can look forward to pushing the limits on their workout. Get your pair of Axum Gear earbuds on Indiegogo at the discounted price of $149 before they hit the market at a price point of $299. Orders will ship to backers in May 2017.

Meet Axum Gear earbuds. The first set of truly wireless earbuds to use tech found in luxury cars to enhance your listening experience.

The earbuds are designed to fit every ear. Using a hook like feature, similar to buds with a sports fin, Axum Gear is able to securely lock into every shape ear. Igal Golovan, the founder, promises their silicone jacket and hook design will stay put regardless of your workout routine.

Golovan, a self-proclaimed fitness junkie, said he came up with the idea because he wanted to provide fellow gym rats with the ability to listen to quality music without a hassle. “I’ve always been an active guy with two passions—extreme sports and music,” writes Golovan. “So, when I first heard about Bluetooth headphones, I figured there would be no better way to bring together the things I love to do. The next day, I bought a generic pair—they were awful.”

Working with German sound engineers at Konzept-X, Axum Gear is able to use M-voiD technology solely found in luxury cars to provide what Axum describes as the realistic and predictive audio simulations created by wired audio products.

That being said, Axum Gear earbuds use Bluetooth and aptX technology to retain a quality connection. They also possess waterproof nano-coating to keep the buds functional regardless of how hard you’re pumping iron.

At this time, I’m unaware of the specs, but have inquired further with Golovan. However, if these buds have at least piqued your interest you can sign up for the Axum newsletter on AxumGear.com. Your subscription will entitle you to 50 percent off of the earbuds (for early subscribers) although I’m unaware of the projected cost. Golovan has advised Axum Gear will be running an Indiegogo campaign soon which will be located here soon.
