JBL Reflect Contour 2 Wireless Sports In Ear Headphones Review

JBL Reflect Contour 2 Wireless Sports In Ear Headphones Review

You have great sounding headphones, but they’re not sweat proof. And they fall out of your ears. Or maybe you have great fitting sports headphones, but they sound like crap. Is it possible to have wireless sports earphones that sound good and actually fit? They’re difficult to find, but JBL says they can pull it off. In this JBL Reflect Contour 2 Wireless In Ear Headphones review, we’ll put that claim to the test.

FIT – JBL Reflect Contour 2 Wireless Sports In Ear Headphones Review

Do back flips in a category 5 hurricane. These babies are never coming off. With JBL’s “Dual Lock Technology,” the JBL Reflect Contour 2  headphones fit incredibly well. First, they use a silicone piece that seals to the contours of your ears. And JBL has taken the extra measure of adding rubber ear hooks. It’s a little overkill. It’s got so much suction, it’s like sticking a plunger in your ear. It’s hard to forget that you’re wearing them. (For the same pair without hooks, try the JBL Reflect Mini 2 Wireless Review.) At the same time, they provide great sound isolation. They’re also really light and come in customize-able sizes.

DESIGN – JBL Reflect Contour 2 Wireless Sports In Ear Headphones Review

The Reflect Contour2 provide 10 hours of battery life, which is pretty good for wireless in ear headphones. And it only takes ten minutes of charging time to produce one hour of usage. If you’re not into using your hands, JBL offers hands-free calls with voice assist through Google Now and good ol’ Siri. Call clarity is good and the 3 button remote is very easy to navigate. One press of a button brings up the device in your Bluetooth settings, and it pairs quickly. The wireless range is about 30 feet without obstructions. More important, it’s sweat proof. JBL also made the cables reflective, so you can run safely at night.

SOUND – JBL Reflect Contour 2 Wireless Sports In Ear Headphones Review

For a pair of sports earphones, these JBL’s sound great. But for those who like to crank up the volume, you should know that wireless headphones don’t provide as much power as a wired pair. Still, the volume on these headphones is pretty good.

Lows

In classic JBL style, the Reflect Countour 2 produces a nice, deep bass. The lows are punchy, so beats sound fun. These headphones are perfect for hip-hop, EDM and pop.

Mids

The mids are pretty well balanced. But the problem with JBL headphones is that they sound a little muddy. You’re not going to get great clarity listening to rock, folk or jazz. Still, they have fullness and warmth, which lends itself nicely to big choruses.

Highs

I listened to a little classical music, and it sounded pleasant. The highs aren’t very pronounced, but I didn’t hear any sizzle, which is often a problem with cheaper headphones.

SUMMARY – JBL Reflect Contour 2 Wireless Sports In Ear Headphones Review

For a hundred bucks, I love these headphones. They check all the boxes in terms of fit, sweat resistance and decent sound. The JBL Reflect Contour 2 the best wireless sports headphones I’ve tried so far.
