In January, Sony announced at CES they’d start incorporating Google Assistant into their wireless headphones. That day is here! Android Central shared that Sony wireless headphone users that are connected to Sony’s companion app Sony Connect, would receive a notification of the big news for their device through the interface. P.S. That’s after users update their Sony Connect app to version v2.0.0.

In order to properly engage Google Assistant you’ll have to forgo noise cancelling. Sony’s notification prompts users that the NC/Ambient button becomes a toggle between Ambient sound Control and Google Voice Assistant. Users will have to modify their selection when planning to use the Google Assistant.

As of now, the Google Assistant update is applicable for WH-1000XM2 and WI-1000X. The next devices expected to benefit from the Sony Google Assistant Update are WF-1000X, WH-CH900N, and the H.ear On 2 WH-H900N.
