[Update] Re-Release on Kickstarter, Meet StringPad Headphones

StringPad Headphones

Update 3/19/2017: StringPad headphones are returning to Kickstarter with a lower price and technological tweaks to make a gaming headphone you don’t want to miss. Launching March 20, StringPad will feature an updated amplifier to supply better sound at a price of $120 plus shipping (rather than $199 + S&H).

StringPad headphones add motion to your sound. Designed for gamers and music lovers alike, wearers can expect a more immersive listening experience.

Meet StringPad Headphones

Imagine playing a video game that involves some sort of combat and every time you fire your rifle you feel a little kick. The game would seem a bit more life like. The same goes for movies. And what about music that features face melting bass drops? A bit of a rumble in your headphones would definitely bring the music to life. That’s the theory behind StringPad headphones.

So how do StringPad headphones get the job done? The headphones use bone conduction and vibrate the mastoid bone right behind the ears to enhance bass to sound like that of a subwoofer. Moreover, your audio and music will feel more immersive, as if you are in the center of the music, according to StringPad.

StringPad headphones come with a specially designed two-way TDM (tactile dynamic motion) amplifier. It emits two different signals, one for the sound and one for the vibrations. This makes it possible to adjust the volumes for chat, music and gameplay, as well as the haptic feedback effects separately. For those who are part of the gamer community a noise-cancelling boom mic is thrown in as well as a neckband.

When it comes to the specs, users can expect booming bass and open sounding-audio across a frequency response range of 20 to 20,000 Hertz on an impedance up to 32 ohms. StringPad can also support a number of different mobile devices and drive them for up to nearly 5 hours. To boot, the manufacturer’s knew you’d begetting real sweaty as your rock out to your music or lose yourself in an immersive video gaming experience.

StringPad headphones are available via Kickstarter at the Super Early bird special of $222 USD (a 40 percent discount off of the suggested retail price). Orders will ship to backers in August 2017.
