Modeled after Sennheiser’s PC 373D comes the Massdrop Sennheiser PC37X gaming headset.
Massdrop Sennheiser PC37X Gaming Headset Release Jan 17
The revamped headphone retains its winning aspects while improving upon the audio and microphone with minor tweaks. The headset features angled, dynamic drivers paired with an open back design to offer better stereo imaging and locational accuracy. Open-back headphones are great for opening up the soundstage in your music and allowing for spatial recreation. By way of design, these headphones will do the same – meaning you can identify exactly where incoming threats and low rumbles from an approaching enemy are coming from. The drivers come from the same family as the Sennheiser HD598 and HD600 headphones—two audiophile favorites in the Sennheiser collection – so thy are sure to provide that beautiful Sennheiser sound signature we have all come to love.
The boom mic attached to the headphones is equipped with noise cancellation. The mic is designed for high-volume, low-distance recording, and the ability to handle unpleasant pops and hisses – so also great for Skype calls and video chatting. Many games today are actually recorded with Sennheiser equipment, which speaks to the quality of Sennheiser’s microphone capsule. Plus, the mic mutes by simply rotating it up, creating a satisfying click so you know when it’s been muted.
The overall build is lightweight to ensure a comfortable gaming experience. The headband is adjustable (as it should be) and the ear cups are comprised of velvet. The right ear cup has a volume adjustment wheel for quick tweaks in the heat of battle, and the 10-foot braided cable is long enough to reach the back of desktop towers.
The Massdrop Sennheiser PC37X Gaming Headset will be available at Massdrop.com on January 17 6 a.m. PST for $119.99 with free domestic shipping.
