Today I’m taking a break from headphone reviews to touch upon the Anker Infini – a stately soundbar that pulls no stops. At $99, this speaker offers fantastic performance at an affordable price.
Anker Infini Review
The Anker Infini comes packaged with a power cable, an optical cable, a remote, a user manual, and mounting brackets.
Construction feels solid on the Infini, with just enough weight to let you know it means business. The robust design holds up well, whether you place the speaker on a console stand or mount it directly to a wall.
Inputs include a standard 3.5 mm audio jack, a USB port, and an optical port. The Infini also supports Bluetooth-enabled devices with surprisingly good results.
A simple, lightweight remote offers ease-of-use and all the buttons you need to enjoy the soundbar at its fullest.
Setup might be a little less intuitive than desired, but this constitutes my only real gripe with the Infini. And, to be honest, it’s definitely a minor gripe.
As outlined in the manual, once the soundbar is plugged in, you can power it on via the remote or a dedicated power button on the top of the unit. Then simply select the input mode and you’re good to go.
The only real addendum missing from the user manual is the caution to keep volume DOWN on your source, as the Inifini can get LOUD.
Sound Quality
Once hooked up, the Anker Infini gives way to some impressive audio. Bass remains lively and strong, with plenty of impact. Not sloppy or uncontrolled, the low end sounds like a thing of beauty – with accuracy and detail aplenty.
This sense of accuracy further extends to the midrange. Unlike most other speakers in the sub-$100 price range, the mids remain clear and concise without any undue compression or distortion. The fact that Anker can offer this level of midrange fidelity in a speaker that retails for just $99 is staggering, to say the least.
High frequencies can seem something of a mixed bag on the Infini. While the detail remains contrasting and articulate, there may be some slight compression in the mid-highs. Not a deal-breaker by any means, this slight hiccup prevents the Infini from sounding perfect. However, this high end is still an outright steal at the price.
Recommendations
Oddly, the Infini doesn’t have any reviews on Amazon right now – probably because this baby is brand-spanking-new. That being said, it’s an outright shame, because the build quality, ease of use, and sound quality all point to a fantastic soundbar.
Of course, you could spend more money for something from Bose or Sony. But Anker is already turning heads with its other products, including the impressive Anker Soundcore Space NC (in itself a shocking blow to the Bose QC35). And spending twice as much money on a clone from Bose or Sony won’t even give you a better sound – just a more expensive brand name on your speaker.
Really, if you’re looking for a great soundbar at a great price and you don’t snatch up the Anker Infini, you’re doing it wrong.
Final Analysis
At rock-bottom pricing with a fantastic sound, the Anker Infini delivers impressive value. Add to this plenty of input options and an easy-to-use interface, and you’ve got one hell of a deal. Our thoughts? Spend the $99 and never look back.
