Apple Over-Ear Headphones Rumored to Launch Later this Year

Apple acquired Beats in 2014 and it seems that the four year span was enough for them to develop an over-ear design, expected to launch before the end of the year. Four years was just enough for them to figure out how to market their own over-ear cans. AppleInsider reports they’ve learned this information via a note for investors. KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts, this headphone will be “high-end” and is aiming to deliver a product that boasts the convenience of AirPods but with better acoustic qualities. AppleInsider is anticipating this headphone will most likely be wireless and capitalize on the whole “most likely possess wireless capability making it a more-refined version of Apple AirPods.

Now, for those of us in the audiophile world we are know headphones can come in a variety of different forms, open-back, closed back, hi-res certified, wireless, NFC capable, the list goes on and with Cupertino-based company’s capabilities, the opportunities are truly endless for Apple over-ear headphones.

As of recent, Apple is rumored to be updating their AirPods before the year is out with a special upgrade of the W1 chip to the W2. The wireless chip is used for managing Bluetooth connections. Apple AirPods are also projected to receive improvements concerning water resistance.
