Del-Fi Audio: Dual-Function Luxury Headphones and Speakers
The versatile audio system, also called Apollo 11, with wireless capabilities is a perfect piece of portable tech for music lovers these days. Del-Fi Audio has created a headset that can be used as both wireless headphones and a wireless Bluetooth speaker. The very nature of retaining both a headphone and speaker in one easily portable headset is genius. The headset itself only weighs 45 grams and the earcups are able to swivel a full 360 degrees for better positioning when in speaker mode or on the head.
The headset seems comfortable, as the ear cushions are comprised of lambskin leather. The top of the headband looks to feature a soft velvet-like patch for extra comfort. As previously mentioned, the ear cups swivel a full 360 degrees which means the headphones should be able to fit at an angle against the head. This provides a more secure and relaxed fit while improving passive noise-cancelling and sound retention. It is available in either a modern or retro style in various colorways.
With a toggle of a switch, users can slide back and forth between headphone and speaker mode. Although, we have not sampled Del-Fi Audio, the makers promise they’ve used the finest technology to make listening to music a full sensory experience. They also advise, thanks to the use of high quality materials and state of the art technology, no existing audio system should come close to their sound. They further add their dual-function speaker can be the life of the party, I’d like to assume it can get pretty loud.
Del-Fi’s headset uses Bluetooth 4.1 and aptX codec technology to retain a quality connection with your smart device over a 30 foot range. A full charge of the Lithium polymer battery provides the audio system with only four hours of play time, but 100 on standby. To be honest, I’d want more play time from a wireless device. A standard party is longer than four hours, just sayin. Regardless, the headset seems like a useful piece of tech I’d love to get my hands on.
Currently, Del-Fi Audio is running a Kickstarter campaign where the headset can be purchased for as low as $139. The suggested market retail price is looking upwards $110. The finished product will ship to backers in December.
