Audio Technica is updating their Pro DJ line with affordable new products including two new headphones and a turntable. Audio Technica ATH-PRO5X is over ear while the ATH-PRO7X headphone is an on-ear headphone, and the AT-LP1240-USB XP is a turntable.
New DJ Line Audio Technica ATH-PRO5X, ATH-PRO7X, AT-LP1240-USB XP
Audio Technica ATH-PRO5X is a lightweight, portable option for the traveling DJ. It features rotating ear cups with soft cushions for added comfort during long listening and mixing sessions. The frame is of a robust construction so it’s able to survive those long days on the road or even a drop from the DJ booth. ATH-PRO5X headphone includes two detachable cords including a 3.9 – 9.8 foot coiled cable and a 3.9 foot straight cable. As for power, these cans are built with 40 mm drivers to offer 1,500 mW max input power for excellent audio reproduction from low to high volumes.
Audio Technica ATH-PRO7X is similar in make to the PRO5X, except it is an on-ear model and features 45mm drivers offering a 2,000mW max input power for clean and accurate sound reproduction.
The new Audio Technica AT-LP1240-USB XP Turntable was designed to deliver the best in audio reproduction even the most demanding conditions whether that’s by mobile, pro, or DJ use. The LP1240-USB XP is comprised of a powerful direct-drive 16-pole, three-phase motor for unwavering speed stability along with easy back-cueing, as well as forward and reverse play and quiet operation at 33-1/3, 45 or 78 RPM. The turntable features an S-shaped tone arm with various adjustments available, including tracking force, anti-skate, and vertical tracking angle and a removable headshell with the newly designed AT-XP5 cartridge pre-mounted. Additional DJ-based uses include a damped cast-aluminum platter with stroboscopic speed markings and slip mat, an illuminated speed indicator and adjustable pitch control, a start/stop button, a removable stylus target light, a dedicated tone arm grounding lug, a hydraulically-damped lift lever and a locking tone arm rest. The turntable also has a built-in switchable phono pre-amplifier with dual RCA output jacks with detachable cables. An additional USB output allows direct connection to a computer without any special drivers, making it easy to transfer vinyl records to digital music files. The AT-LP1240-USB XP includes a USB cable, audio adapter cables, removable dust cover, and 45 RPM adapter.
Audio Technica ATH-PRO5X headphones, ATH-PRO7X headphones, and AT-LP1240-USB XP will be available in March 2018 for $79, $199, and $499, respectively.
