Beyerdynamic DT 1990

Perhaps it’s time for an update to Beyerdynamic’s Pro team of headphones.Coming to a pair of ears near you in September. Meet Beyerdynamic DT 1990.

New Release: Beyerdynamic DT 1990

The newest addition to the pro line of headphones was announced on Wednesday. The 1990 features an open-back design which many are drawing on as a sign these headphones are designed for in-studio and monitoring use. The DT 1990 follows the closed-back DT 1770 and other predecessors n the Pro line (DT 770, DT 880, DT 990).

The DT 1990 employs Tesla technology to produce pristine audio using highly responsive transducers with extremely fine copper wires to get the job done. The same is found in the 1770, but it’s closed back design is better suited to hear top-notch audio in loud environments.

The 1990’s open back design extracts the utmost detail from the audio signal. The headphones are constructed with exclusive components including, titanium-coated acoustic fabric. These components mean that even the most finite movements on the mixing desk will be audible in the studio. “Subtle variations can be picked up like an acoustic magnifying glass,” writes Beyerdynamic.

These headphones operate on an impedance of 250 ohms to reach an impressive frequency response range of 5-40,000 Hertz.

The Beyerdynamic DT 1990 will make its debut in Berlin September 2-7 at IFA 2016. The headphones will also be available for limited US distribution through August 31 for early September delivery by sending an email to orders@beyerdynamic-usa.com for $599.
