These earbuds are truly cable-free. This is Truu, new wireless charging earbuds that have even ditched the rechargeable case for a wireless mount.
Meet Truu Wireless Charging Earbuds
If the name doesn’t already give it away, Truu is making sure you know their earbuds and accompanying charging mount are totally cable-free. Hoping to execute a product as simple as their design, the Swedish-based company even ditched the standard rechargeable case that ships with most “truly” wireless earbuds. “Not having to plug your earbuds into cords or place them in cases is pure freedom,” the company states on their Kickstarter.
The minimalist-style earbuds contain a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery and N52 magnets that are used to activate the wireless charging mount. The mount also contains a N52 magnet topped with Scandinavian-inspired wooden details paying homage to Truu’s Swedish roots. The chic and clean exterior was fashioned to blend in with any home’s decor.
To use the earbuds, simply separate them from one another – pressing the center button to pair with your phone and then popping them in your ears. The buds were ergonomically designed to fit perfectly in any ear regardless of the shape or size. An order of these buds will come with four different sized rubber tips and one pair of Comply foam tips. Score!
The wireless units, available in both white and black, use balanced armature drivers reaching a frequency range between 18 – 22,000 Hertz on an impedance of 25 ohms.
Truu is also sweat-proof and uses Bluetooth 4.1 technology, which should provide a secure quality connection between the buds and your phone up to 12 meters in range. A built-in microphone allows users to make calls. The buds are said to get 5 hours of usage off of a full charge. When the buds aren’t in use, they can be stored in the Truu pouch.
Perhaps, the only real issue that lies ahead is a charger that can store power. Truu is hoping to further develop the mount in the future with more funding.
“Wireless charging is certainly something we are looking forward to develop and offer a more wide range of, including a charger that stores power. Although, for this first launch, it will only include the stationary charger you see in the campaign images,” they further advise.
Overall, these buds seems like a great product and it appears that 756 people think so as well. The wireless charging earbuds have surpassed their goal of $56,211 by nearly $80,000. If interested in snagging a pair, head over to Truu’s Kickstarter to purchase them at a discounted rate. Truu will retail at about $284.40 USD and begin shipping in November.
