Jabra’s trying something new – tethering their latest headset behind-the-neck of the wearer rather than over the head. Meet Jabra Halo Smart Bluetooth earbuds.
Jabra Halo Smart Bluetooth Earbuds
Known for their office headsets and call center head gear, Jabra is taking a new approach to their hands-free design with a behind-the-neck build. The headphones use Bluetooth 4.0 to pair to your headphones or any other smart device. With the tap of a button users can queue Siri or Google Now. The integrated in-line mic and controller is able to switch back and forth between tracks, adjust the volume, and play/pause your audio. In addition, the smart buds have the ability to read your texts and calendar events to you aloud.
The headphone is equipped to make and receive calls. Seeing that the buds are manufactured by a company that prides themselves in headsets specifically for that purpose, the microphone and audio quality should be top notch. The microphone frequency range is between 50 – 12,000 Hertz while the speakers should reproduce a frequency range between 20-20,000 Hertz. The Halo Smart operates off of an impedance of 16 ohms with 10 mm drivers.
When it comes to phone calls, the headset will vibrate when you are on the receiving end. To answer, simply separate the magnetic buds and place them in your ears. Truly honing in on smart technology, the Jabra Halo Smart earbuds can voice dial your contacts and redial whoever you spoke to last.
The audio company boasts a 17 hour battery life of of one full charge. The lithium-ion battery requires about an hour-and-a-half to completely juice your wireless buds. They also promise 14 hours of music playback and 22 days of use on standby.
And feel free to try the mono headset out in varying weather conditions as it is water and wind resistant.
The Jabra Halo Smart Bluetooth earbuds come with six sets of extra EarGels tips and 1 USB charging cable. They retail for $80 and will ship late June.
