New Release: Sennheiser GSX 1000 & GSX 1200 Pro Gaming
Optimized to become the epicenter of a gamer’s audio system, the GSX 1000 and GSX 1200 feature a binaural rendering engine which creates an exceptionally immersive surround sound system. As Sennheiser points out, these new audio amplifiers for PC and Mac are “surround sound reborn” featuring an advanced 7.1 algorithm that has been developed with the needs of core gamers in mind.
“These new audio amplifiers draw on Sennheiser’s full expertise in professional audio to give gamers a competitive edge when playing at the limits,” explains Andreas Jessen, Product Manager Gaming, Sennheiser Communications A/S. “This focus is reflected in the design and ergonomics of every aspect of their software and hardware – from an all-new Surround Sound system that delivers unprecedented positional accuracy, to software and physical design that offers the maximum control without distracting from gameplay. With its dedicated features to cater for elite competitive gaming, the GSX 1200 Pro more than lives up to its professional status.”
Both audio amplifiers are powered by digital-to-analog converter (DAC) chips that require no additional drivers. Fashioned after the audio systems in a car, the displays are angled to allow for easy viewing while gaming. Also like that of a car, the display is a red-on-black LED-lit touch panel and is surrounded by a durable aluminum volume wheel. When the systems aren’t in use, their displays dim in order to eliminate distractions. However, thanks to sensory technology the LEDs will brighten when they sense a hand nearby.
In addition, the GSX 1000 and GSX 1200 are built with double USB enumeration for separation of game sound and communication audio. Gamers also have the ability to adjust the equalizer, set reverberation levels, set the tone adjustment to change how loud they hear their own voice, and more.
Sennheiser GSX 1000 and GSX 1200 audio amplifiers made their public debut for the first time at Gamescom 2016 in Cologne on August 17. Both systems will be available at the end of September.
