Final Audio will soon release it’s new B-Series earphones. Following on the success of the older E-Series, the Japanese manufacturer promises to break new ground with its latest offering.
Big on BA: New Final Audio B-Series Earphones
Utilizing balanced armature drivers in varying configurations, these new earphones will mark a first for Final. Â The B1 will feature one dynamic driver and one Balanced Armature driver. Also featuring a two-driver design, the B3 utilizes two Balanced Armature drivers. Â In contrast to these models, the B2 holds a single Balanced Armature driver.
Housing design will come in the form of a chrome copper housing for the B1, and an aluminum housing for the B2 and B3.  This housing features the same design and construction as the previously-released MAKE models. By using the MAKE housing design, Final Audio can now offer repairs for the lifetime of the earphones. Â
This housing also provides a superior fit over previous Final designs. Seven contact points, with four of those points on the Concave Chonchae, or outer-ear cavity, round out the fit.Â
Like the higher-end E4000 and E5000, the B models will all offer replaceable cables sporting an MMCX connection. Â
Sound Quality
In terms of sound, the B-Series models have been conceived as genre-specific models with particular music profiles. Â For instance, the B1, features more soundstage than the B3, but still not as much as the B2. Yet, due to its narrower dynamic range, the B1 has been intended to provide a superior listening experience when paired with Pop music. Â
In contrast to the B1, the B2 delivers a greater sense of soundstage and dynamic range, making it more suitable for classical music. Â And, even though the B3 also delivers greater dynamic range than the B1, it delivers less soundstage as well, making it a more optimal choice for simpler arrangements – like Rock, R&B, or some electronic material. Â
The Final Audio B1, B2, and B3 will retail for $699, $299, and $499, respectively. Â The B-Series will be available in mid-June.
