AIAIAI TMA-2 Wireless headband

Danish headphones company AIAIAI is known for their assembly-required headsets. Earlier this week, AIAIAI launched a wireless solution that make your TMA-2s hands-free. Meet AIAIAI TMA-2 Wireless headband called H05.

Since the launch of the jack-less iPhone 7 the demand for wireless headphones became all too real. AIAIA’s simple solution is swapping out the original headband for their smart, Bluetooth capable make. Since AIAIAI’s are completely customizable, users – who often err to the DJ community – are able to purchase individual parts (speakers, ear cushions, headbands, and cables) to assemble the headset at their leisure. This design ensures if and when a single piece of the device is damaged, the entire headset doesn’t wind up out of commission.

AIAIAI TMA-2 Wireless headband works simply by plugging into the TMA-2 speakers. This enables audio transmission integration over Bluetooth 4.2 technology. Features built into H05 include controls to play, pause, and skip tracks while the tip of the band features an omnidirectional microphone for taking calls. H05 can run for up to 16 hours on a single charge which takes about 2 hours to achieve.

This brilliant idea was actually suggested by users and AIAIAIA listened. Now, they’re looking towards these users to bring the AIAIAI TMA-2 Wireless headband to the market.

“At first, we explored whether creating a new speaker unit could be a way to introduce wireless technology to the system. But that felt wrong somehow, as it would be limiting to have only a few wireless sound configurations,” writes AIAIAI’s Head of New Product Development That’s why we came up with this idea of integrating the Bluetooth module into the headband, to maintain that 100% modularity.”

AIAIAI is currently selling the headband on Kickstarter at discounted intervals before the campaign closes December 15. AIAIAI TMA-2 Wireless headband will ship to backers in May 2017.
