Apple Lightning EarPods

The first on our list may surprise you, but Apple Lightning EarPods should be of consideration. While we have yet to hear them, I’d like to think the sound should be immensely improved since the earphones have been optimized and fashioned to provide better audio quality with the use of the Lightning port. These Lightning headphones will cost you $29 at the Apple Store.

Libratone Q Adapt In-Ear

These earphones are super stylish showcasing smooth metal finishes, like that of the iPhone. The Q Adapt In-Ears draw power through the Lightning cable to fuel their adjustable noise cancelling feature called City Mix. This useful little tool has four different settings in which you can select just how much of your environment you’d like to hear. These Lightning headphones will be made available in late October. As of now, the price is to be announced.

JBL Reflect Aware

JBL’s lightweight earphones now deliver their signature reference sound to your iPhone 7. The Reflect Aware is of course Lightning jack equipped, but provides a bit of an edge over the competition as it is a sports bud. With features that include sweat resistance, ergonomic sport fin ear tips, and active noise cancellation, the Reflect Aware may be the only real Lightning headphones you need. A companion app also allows for adaptive noise control, meaning you can adjust the level of ambient noise you’d like to hear whether you are listening either inside or outside. The Reflect Aware will run you about $199.95.

Audeze iSINE10

The iSINE10 are planar magnetic Lightning earbuds which are said to deliver some of the best in high quality sound. As The Verge writes, “Their soundstage is broad, their imaging’s precise, and their range extension, from deep sub-bass to high end treble, is outstanding.” The spider web-looking ear buds are attached to a Cipher Lightning cable which contains a high-quality in-line amplifier, digital-to-analog converter, and DSP. This is what also helps to bring you stunning audio quality. The iSINE10 is available for pre-order at $399 and will ship in November.

Audeze EL-8

The EL-8, which is available in both an open-back and closed-back design, are over-ear planar magnetic headphones. Both headphones feature super soft faux leather on both the headband and ear cushions. On the inside, both diaphragms are said to be of a nearly weightless design and three times larger than typical headphones for fast response times, dramatically reduced distortion, higher resolution, and improved imaging. The open-back model allows for sound that is more breathable while the closed-back model provides a more isolated and immersive experience. Both of these Lightning headphones retail for $699.

Audeze Sine

The Sine is an on-ear planar magnetic headphone that features the signature Audeze sound that boasts lush audio with detail and depth across the entire frequency range. The Sine is available with the same Cipher Lightning cable, like the iSINE10. This cable enables the user to access even more accurate sound with the integrated DAC/AMP with DSP. The Sine costs $449.

Philips Fidelio M2L/27

The Fidelio M2L/27 is a more affordable on-ear Lightning headphone. The headband is comprised of fancy stitched leather while the ear cups feature a softer leather stuffed with memory foam. This helps to creates a tighter seal against the ear for better sound isolation and passive noise cancelling. These Lightning headphones, while closed-back, feature an acoustic vent. This is part of their Bass Reflex System that regulates air pressure within the acoustic chamber so the diaphragm is more controlled. Subsequently, your sound should be much more detailed with precision and accuracy across lows, mids, and, highs with dynamic bass response. The Fidelio M2L/27 is currently being sold via Amazon for $159.95.
