Look & Feel

The AVENTHO and Momentum 4 are well-built headphones that are comfortable to wear. With the AVENTHO, you get a better frame supported by superior materials used for the yoke compared to the Momentum 4’s plasticky build. In terms of fit though, the AVENTHO has more of a pinch, so you might prefer the Momentum 4’s lighter and gentler stationary feel.

Design & Functionality

Although both headphones have similar driver sizes, the AVENTHO uses Beyerdynamic’s STELLAR.45 driver, which is hard to beat. This gives the AVENTHO more of a sizable output compared to the Momentum 4, but they both offer good headroom and comfortable loudness. Both headphones also have good ANC, but the Momentum 4 takes the lead here with stronger environmental isolation in louder settings. The AVENTHO has much better controls though, with more responsive touch gestures and the addition of a wear sensor. You also get a better EQ from the app, with more effective presets and frequency bands to control.

Bluetooth

Being a newer model the AVENTHO is able to incorporate the latest Bluetooth technology like LE Audio, aptX Lossless, and support from version 5.4. Both headphones will give you fast pairing and a stable connection, although, the AVENTHO is the only option that offers multipoint.

Battery Life

Both the AVENTHO and Momentum 4 have massive battery lives, but the Momentum 4 takes the win here. It’s ten hours more than the AVENTHO with 60 hours of battery life compared to 50. Even though the Momentum 4 has a better battery life, both headphones are more than worthy here.

Soundstage

This is what made me want to compare these headphones in the first place. The AVENTHO and Momentum 4 bring a studio-like presentation to their soundstages, but which one does it the best? They both contain good depth and separation for Bluetooth headphones, with focused spatial accuracy. With the AVENTHO you get Dolby Atmos spatial audio in its app, but the natural stereo imaging is preferred when comparing these headphones. I think the AVENTHO comes across as a bit roomier than the Momentum 4, but the difference is slight. These are two wireless headphones that both have a strong soundstage, but my ears lean to the AVENTHO. This should not deter you from considering the Momentm 4 though, as it’s not far off.

Low End

Heavy similarities between the AVENTHO and Momentum 4 don’t stop at the soundstage. The bass performance is also very close, as both headphones carry a thick timbre with engaging depth for Bluetooth headphones. With the AVENTHO, the bass has a growl to it that the Mometnum 4 doesn’t have but it still feels as rich and meaty. While they both contain a clear sub-bass texture, the AVENTHO appears a bit more organized and layered, featuring slightly more transparency.

Mids

While the AVENTHO shows good midrange clarity and presence, the Momentum 4 has lusher qualities. They both have different levels of transparency, but the Momentum 4 features the most musicality and accuracy. It does a better job of highlighting the strike of notes, and texture of instruments. the Momentum 4 pushes its midrange forward, while the AVENTHO’s midrange sits more evenly in the mix. Neither headphone has a worse midrange than the other, but the Momentum 4 makes its details stand out with more authority.

Highs

If you enjoy high-end sizzle both the AVENTHO and Momentm 4 provide that. They have a satisfying texture to them that provides an easy brightness that combines emphasis with smoothness. Where they differ is with the AVENTHO and its broader height and clearer sparkle. It has more of a flavor to it, while the Momentum 4 is a bit more neutral in comparison. Both headphones have crisp details, but the AVENTHO is a bit airier and colorful.

Summary

Ultimately, both the AVENTHO 300 and Sennheiser Momentum 4 are excellent choices for anyone looking for high-quality wireless headphones. While the AVENTHO boasts superior driver technology and better control features, the Momentum 4 triumphs in battery life and environmental noise isolation. By weighing the strengths and nuances of each model, you can identify which characteristics align with your listening preferences. Regardless of your choice, both headphones promise an immersive audio experience that elevates your music, podcasts, and more to new heights.
