Beyerdynamic Expands MMX Gaming Lineup with MMX 150 Wireless and MMX 230 Wireless Headsets

Beyerdynamic has officially unveiled two new additions to its gaming portfolio: the MMX 150 wireless and the MMX 230 wireless. Designed and developed in Germany, both headsets deliver premium comfort, pristine sound, and customizable audio tuning via the beyerdynamic app. The launch was announced ahead of gamescom 2025 in Cologne, where gamers will get a first look at the new models. In partnership with Freaks 4U Gaming, beyerdynamic will equip demo stations with the MMX 150 wireless, while the MMX 230 wireless makes its debut as the flagship of the MMX series.

According to CEO Andreas Rapp, these new wireless models reflect beyerdynamic’s commitment to “delivering the best possible audio experience for gamers.”

MMX 150 Wireless – Built for Gaming and Everyday Listening

The MMX 150 wireless is designed with versatility in mind, making it suitable for gaming, streaming, and everyday listening. It offers up to 50 hours of battery life, ensuring uninterrupted entertainment during long gaming sessions or while binge-watching TV shows. Inside, a 40 mm dynamic driver delivers immersive, detail-rich sound that has been finely tuned in Germany. This allows players to fully experience the intensity of their favorite games while also enjoying music and media with impressive clarity.

For communication, the MMX 150 includes a detachable META VOICE microphone with sidetone support, allowing players to hear themselves while speaking for precise and natural callouts. The microphone boom arm can be adjusted for clarity or removed entirely, instantly transforming the MMX 150 into a stylish pair of over-ear headphones.

Cross-platform compatibility ensures hassle-free use across PCs, consoles, and mobile devices. With USB-C and a low-latency dongle included, the headset makes setup fast and seamless, simply plug in and play without delays. Its lightweight frame, ergonomic fit, and premium materials ensure lasting comfort even during marathon gaming sessions.

MMX 230 Wireless – Engineered for Competitive Gaming

The MMX 230 wireless is engineered specifically for competitive players who demand performance and reliability. It is the first Beyerdynamic gaming headset to feature a replaceable battery, offering up to 60 hours of continuous play on a single charge. This makes it an ideal choice for long sessions or tournament environments where downtime isn’t an option. Connectivity is equally impressive thanks to Bluetooth 6.0, which provides ultra-low latency connections. This ensures players hear every sound in real time, gaining a crucial split-second edge in competitive scenarios.

At its core, the MMX 230 houses a specially tuned 40 mm dynamic driver that delivers pinpoint directional audio. Gamers can track opponents’ footsteps, gunfire, and environmental cues with remarkable accuracy, giving them the advantage they need to react faster than the competition.

Comfort is another highlight of the MMX 230 wireless. The headset features replaceable velour ear pads and breathable materials that remain comfortable during quick matches or extended late-night sessions. Professional gamers will also appreciate its seamless integration with PC setups, consoles, interfaces, and capture cards, making it adaptable to a variety of competitive environments.

Communication is powered by an advanced microphone with environmental noise cancellation (ENC). This technology filters out unwanted background sounds, ensuring that in-game callouts remain crystal clear even in chaotic environments. Every command is delivered with precision, giving teams the coordination needed to stay ahead.

Design, Accessories, and Color Options

Both the MMX 150 wireless and MMX 230 wireless are available in Black and Arctic White finishes, allowing gamers to choose a style that fits their setup. Each headset ships with a detachable META VOICE microphone, a USB-C low-latency dongle, a USB-A to USB-C adapter, a 1.8-meter USB-C cable, and a 1.8-meter USB-C to 3.5 mm jack cable. These included accessories ensure maximum compatibility with a wide range of devices straight out of the box.
