So Bizarre, Bragi Dash Wants Users to Tap Their Cheek to Queue Siri

You read that headline correctly. Bragi Dash is unveiling a new bit of technology which will allow users to queue Siri, not by tapping their earbuds, but their cheek.

So Bizarre, Bragi Dash Wants Users to Tap Their Cheek to Queue Siri

It sounds a bit bizarre, especially since my mind is imagining the countless times I tap my cheek while trying to brush my hair out of my face or just by way of resting my face on my palm. Now add Siri’s annoying, unsolicited presence. Ugh!

Anyway, the new technology is called “Kinetic User Interface” and it plans to roll out November 21 as part of a new update. As The Verge points out, they don’t know exactly how Bragi is going to pull this off. The truly wireless buds have been known to be a little sensitive or sometimes insensitive when users touch the sensors. Regardless, as odd as the feature sounds, it is an interesting means of integrating the truly wireless buds into becoming what is more like an integral part of your body and system rather than a headphones wearable.

This update is said to better the major features of the Bragi Dash, which was found to fall a little flat on their promise of amazing Bluetooth connectivity and stellar fitness tracking of your vitals (tracking cadence, steps taken, rate, oxygen saturation, energy spent, etc). To be mroe exact, the update promises to “improve the Dash’s heart rate monitoring capabilities, cut down on wind noise when the audio pass through feature is active, and increase the quality of both phone calls and the overall Bluetooth connection to your phone.”

Although Bragi Dash has fallen a bit short on its promise, it appears that developers are looking to better the wearable. Let’s hope this update does the trick.
