will.i.am is back at creating headphones again. In hopes of you forgetting how terrible they’ve been in the past, he’s recruited Naomi Campbell and Kendall Jenner (and others) to help him sell his new Buttons earphones.
will.i.am is Creating Headphones Again, Buttons Earphones
These buds are taking after many of the more acclaimed Bluetooth-based buds featuring a neck band and magnetic ear pieces. The buds are large, like really big, shiny buttons from a winter coat. The stylish and sophisticated swirl cut is reminiscent of that of Bang and Olufsen. So is the whole wireless-magnetic-earpiece thing, but I’m not judging.
Anyway, here are more details on Buttons earphones. The nylon cable features a simple in-line mic and controller equipped with three buttons to switch back and forth between your music as well as take calls and queue Siri. The earpieces are interchangeable among three different sizes.
When it comes to the specs, the earphones are sporting 11mm dynamic drivers. Using a Lithium-ion battery, wearers should be able to achieve up to 6 hours of wireless listening and talk time over Bluetooth 4.0 technology.
No word on what frequency response range the buds can reach (or how they sound), but hopefully Buttons earphones are an improvement from previously released i.am+ products which were overpriced and seemingly unpopular. Buttons – which look like another stab at will.i.am’s previously released Bluetooth earbuds called EPs – will retail for $230 beginning November 2 with 1 percent of proceeds benefiting will.i.am’s i.am.angel Foundation.
