Double Tap Audio Bullet Headphones

Double Tap Audio

Fashioned to look like a bullet, Double Tap Audio earbuds plan to shoot down your old headset for something a little more durable and sleek.

Double Tap Audio Bullet Headphones

These headphones look like they are built to last. The bullet-like casing aka earphone shells is comprised of modified 40 Cal once fire brass along with mat black anodized aluminum housing. This sturdy outer surface protects the 10 mm drivers within.

The heavy-duty exterior is basically solid metal. The build is said to greatly reduce sound leaking in and out of the earphones as well as provide a better and more protective casing than plastic.

The headphone wires were also built bulkier, but stronger than most. Nylon is usually used to keep many cords from tangling. The Double Tap Audio R1 headphones use a multi-layer cord to protect the headphones from constantly tugging. The actual wire floats inside of the multi-layer cord system. The outer layer absorbs the strain, protecting the wires from excessive wear. Overall, the use of this type of cord also keeps the wires from tangling, no matter what. Maybe more headphones should adopt this method.

The back of the earphones also hold two rare Earth magnets. These magnets also help to keep the earbuds from tangling, as the earbuds are able to clasp around your neck when they aren’t in use.

Double Tap Audio promises quality sounding audio, writing “we used the biggest dynamic coil drivers we could get into the house. We wanted a good balance of highs, mids and lows” on their Kickstarter page. They further report listeners should experience deep bass and crisp mids and highs across their frequency response range of 19 – 21,000 Hertz.

Double Tap Audio headphones are available on Kickstarter for $55. The first batch of bullet-like headphones will ship to backers in September 2016. Double Tap Audio is selling the R1s in four different batches. The fourth and final batch will ship in December 2016.
