Last year, we saw audio veterans Sennheiser and EPOS join forces. As of 2020, Sennheiser’s consumer communication and gaming products have been developed through this joint venture. But why stop the alliance there? A partnership has now been announced with BLAST Premier, a league-style gaming entertainment company.
BLAST Premier organizes massive international gaming tournaments for CS:GO. Such large scale events are in need of good audio, and so Blast Premier has been very enthusiastic about their new relationship. EPOS | Sennheiser has the opportunity to reach BLAST’s massive esports community, and so the partnership is win-win.
“Together we will bring to life the many ways that audio is so crucial; the player communication, and how their internal communication lead their actions in the gameplay.”
– Leo Matlock, Commercial Director, BLAST
Firstly on the EPOS/BLAST agenda is something they are calling Mic’D up. This project aims to provide insight into how the players communicate during a match. It will feature video clips of players recorded through their (presumably EPOS | Sennheiser) headset during crucial moments in the competition. Being able to see how the pros work as a team in real-time should prove to be interesting content for fans.
