The epitome of form meets function are GemPhones. These earbuds are both a necklace and wireless Bluetooth earbuds. Fancy!
GemPhones Earbuds are a Wireless Bluetooth Necklace
Coming in three different styles, GemPhones serves as “a testament that women in tech are necessary for a fresh prospective,” says founder Kelli Meade. “I wanted to make a greater impact in the field of technology in hopes it may inspire young girls to believe tech is ‘dope.'”
That being said, she reinvented how to wear earphones in a way that is both trendy and technologically sound. When it comes to style, the headphones feature a cable that consists of shiny beads and rhinestones. The three different looks are mahogany wooden pieces and matte black gems, black and chrome beads with silver rhinestones, and white pearl gems with silver rhinestones.
When it comes to tech, GemPhones are wireless boasting some of the finer features of Bluetooth-based buds. The buds support a battery life of 8 hours of playtime (320 hours standby) while taking 2 hours to fully juice. Using Bluetooth 4.1 technology, users are able to jam out to their headphones up to 33 feet away from their smart device. In addition, the beaded cable includes an in-line mic and controller to take calls and navigate through your playlists. Each earbud housing features an over-ear hook for a secure fit.
GemPhones are available on Kickstarter starting at the Early Bird price of $39 and will ship to backers in March 2017.
