NAD Announces C 589 CD Player: NAD Brings Modern Audiophile Performance to Compact Discs

NAD Electronics has officially announced the new NAD C 589 CD Player, a premium source component designed for listeners who still value physical media and high-quality compact disc playback. Joining NAD’s respected Classic Series lineup, the C 589 combines advanced digital processing, flexible connectivity, and a user-friendly design aimed at modern two-channel audio systems. As interest in vinyl, CDs, and other physical formats continues to grow, the NAD C 589 arrives as a purpose-built solution for music lovers who want to get the best possible sound from their disc collections.

NAD C 589 Uses QRONO d2a Digital Audio Technology

At the core of the NAD C 589 CD Player is QRONO d2a technology, developed by MQA Labs. According to NAD, this digital processing system is designed to improve timing accuracy and signal reconstruction during digital-to-analog conversion.

The result is intended to deliver:

  • Improved spatial detail
  • Better transient response
  • Enhanced musical flow
  • Greater resolution from compact disc recordings

For listeners with well-mastered CDs, this could mean a more refined and revealing playback experience.

Precision Transport and Reliable Disc Playback

The NAD C 589 CD Player also features a precision-engineered disc loader and transport mechanism built for smooth, quiet, and accurate operation. NAD says the player is optimized to read a wide range of discs reliably, including older or heavily used CDs. That makes the C 589 appealing not only for new collectors, but also for longtime owners revisiting extensive CD libraries.

Balanced XLR, RCA, and Digital Outputs

One of the biggest highlights of the NAD C 589 is its versatile connectivity. Users can integrate it into a wide range of systems using both analog and digital outputs.

Analog Outputs

  • Balanced XLR
  • RCA stereo outputs

Digital Outputs

  • AES/EBU
  • Coaxial
  • Optical

This allows the player to function either as a complete CD player or as a dedicated CD transport feeding an external DAC.

Designed for Everyday Listening

NAD also focused on ease of use with the NAD C 589 CD Player. The front panel includes a large display with CD Text support, allowing track and artist information to be viewed from across the room when available. A supplied remote control provides convenient access to playback functions, making it easy to enjoy albums from the listening chair.

The NAD C 589 CD Player will be available through authorized NAD retailers worldwide for a retail price of $1,399.
