Pebble Core

This tiny little unit proves that looks can be deceiving. Pebble Core is a music player, mini computer, and so much more.

Pebble Core: A Music Player & Mini Computer

This bite-size multipurpose music player was designed for both fitness fiends and life hackers. Yep, I totally wrote life-hackers, but we will get into that later. The Pebble Core was fashioned as a solution to carrying a “gigantic” cell-phone strapped to your arm while running at the gym. The Core is cellular connected, meaning it has some phone like capabilities when necessary – like sending an SOS if you’re in need of help. This requires a SIM card and cellular data service activation.

The Pebble Core is also able to track your distance, monitor your pace, nark your location via GPS, and stream music using Spotify. If you prefer your own playlists or audiobooks, it stores up to 4 GB of memory. Voice notes also allows users to verbally jot down any of their great ideas while mid workout. Taking it up a notch, Pebble Core is equipped with Amazon Alexa. Users can ask – or tell – Alexa to recite their vitals, distance ran, even caloric intake based on what they’ve eaten. Honestly, this mini piece of tech sounds like the perfect way to tune the world out while focusing on your fitness.

Now, for the life hacks. Pebble Core can function almost as a tether for the Internet of your Things. The miniscule computer can be used to track your pet, unlock your car, control your lights, open your garage door, and with one click order your Uber. Pretty sweet!

Pebble Core is currently running a Kickstarter campaign selling the smart unit for $79 rather than the retail price of $99. Pebble Technology has surpassed their goal of $1 million – crowdsourcing a whopping $10 million thanks to 54,670 backers. They California-based company will begin shipping products worldwide in January 2017.
