Misfit’s taking its fashionable approach to fitness trackers and applying it to in-ear monitors. The American company is planning to release their in-ear headphones, called Specter, sometime this year.
With a super sleek, chrome-colored finish and minimalist design, the buds meet both form and function while also remaining inconspicuous. The buds are ergonomically designed to sit nestled inside the grooves of the ear, rather than protrude outwards. The wireless bud remain connected to the battery pack which clips to the wearer’s blouse. This will power Specter somewhere between 8 – 10 hours.
The buds come equipped with basic fitness capabilities – like tracking your steps taken, distance traveled, and calories burned. If you’re looking for a built-in coach you may want to check out a pair like Vi headphones, the artificially intelligent sport coach. Misfit Specter will feature an in-line mic and controller to take calls and switch back and forth between songs.
Audio-wise, Misfit promises top-notch sound. They have paired with Chinese audio company 1More to produce “incredible sound.” The dual drivers should supply listeners with deep resonating bass and clear treble while the noise isolation technology allows you to work out safely and hear necessary ambient noise.
Misfit Specter should be out sometime this year and is looking to retail around the $200 price point.
