PhelpsFace Finally Follows Protocol, Re-covers Headphones

Earlier this week a photo emerged of everyone’s favorite swimmer, Michael Phelps aka PhelpsFace, donning Beats headphones at the Olympics.

Beats is not an official sponsor, but some might think so after the 2012 Games when numerous American athletes were snapped warming up in the distinct-style headphones. Beats had given them away for free. Since then, the international sporting event has made it their business to discourage all athletes from wearing unauthorized sponsors, but if you are cover it up! Michael Phelps, however, did a less than stellar job of hiding the Beats logo. He placed American flag stickers along the sides of the ear cups, but totally missed a spot!

Whether intentional or not, the decorated swimmer somehow missed the emblazoned Beats text on the top of the headband both Sunday and Tuesday. The Olympics Committee finally got wind because both he and Ryan Lochte had their logs covered up on Wednesday.

PhelpsFace formerly endorsed SOL Republic headphones, but it looks like he’s “jumped ship.”
