Another high performance travel companion is on the way from Sennheiser. Though wired, it sports a longer battery life than its older brother. Introducing Sennheiser PXC 480.
New Sennheiser PXC 480 Wired Travel Headphones
Modeled after the highly anticipated Sennheiser PXC 550 hails the wiry little brother, the 480. It features a flexible design, ergonomically designed ear cups, and of course an in-line mic.
Regardless of whether you are listening to music or not, you can expect a superior silent experience. Although the PXC 480 is a wired headphone, thanks to NoiseGardTM the cable can be removed and your noise-less environment remain intact.
“Our new PXC 480 has been shaped around the needs of the discerning business traveler who demands a noise-cancelling headset that does not compromise on performance, style or features,” said Dr. Christian Ern, Head of Portfolio Management Select at Sennheiser. “Whether you want to focus on work, enjoy a movie or escape into music, it delivers an upgraded travel experience. The PXC 480 brings the essence of our PXC 550 Wireless to the wired realm,” he added.
Like that of the 550, these over-ear cans are collapsible, making for easy storage. While the 550 sports a cable-free design, I cannot overlook the fact that the 480 one-ups the 550 by giving you better battery life. When the PXC 550 is plugged in with noise cancellation turned on it provides up to 30 hours of music playback, while the 480 gives you 50 hours. Nice!,/p>
The Sennheiser PXC 480 will retail for $299.95, $100 less than the wireless option. It will be available in November 2016.
