SpicaBand: Fitness Tracker, Wireless Earbuds, and MP3

A fresh face to the crowdfunding community, comes a wearable that is pretty innovative. I’m actually wondering why this hasn’t been done before… Anyway, SpicaBand combines everyone’s desire to be more fit as well as the need for an ultra-portable listening device in one lightweight and easily accessible design.

First, off the wearable is a fitness tracker. It’ll monitor your number of steps as well as calories burned and additional information on your sleep cycle. Nice to know when you’re hitting REM, amiright? With this information the wearable can set a bio-alarm clock that will wake you up at a time that is best for your body. The wearable’s companion app Spica will keep a detailed log of the data obtained from your excursions with the fitness tracker. Did I mention a vibrating motor also notifies you of any incoming calls or messages?

This armband also holds up to 2,000 additional files, like music. Subsequently, you are wondering how to listen to these audio files. Well how about making use of the two wireless earbuds attached directly to your wearable’s arm bands?

Those buds use Bluetooth 4.1 technology to communicate with your other smart devices. They are said to provide excellent noise cancelling abilities and excellent sound quality. Simple function buttons along the armband allow for you to navigate through your music, adjust the volume, and take calls. The armband also acts as a charger for the buds. A full charge will take about 45 minutes to achieve and will juice your buds for up to 6 hours. When it comes to the armband, it’ll take 1.5 hours for a full charge which should power your armband for a full three days.

The SpicaBand can be yours for a 48 percent discount via Indiegogo at a price of $99. Orders will ship worldwide in November.
