UNICO Truly Wireless Earbuds

UNICO Truly Wireless Earbuds

The fight for the best pair of truly wireless buds is on. A new contender up via Indiegogo called UNICO is competing as the world’s best stereo wireless headphones.

UNICO Truly Wireless Earbuds

UNICO was devised as an affordable alternative to other cable-free buds. Inside of each earbud’s housing is a balanced armature driver that promises to provide great sound isolation, better treble performance, and crystal clear audio with crisp highs and deep lows. They further advise the ear tips and frames of the bud help retain its rich sound.

Being a wireless device, UNICO is fashioned with smart tap controls on the outside of the frame so users can play or pause their music, answer calls, or easily skip forward to the next track. The wireless earphones are also smart voice enabled with the ability to communicate with voice assistants like Siri, OK Google, and others.

UNICO compares itself to some of the better known competition like Earin, FireFlies, and DOT. The bright blue earpiece uses an internal battery with 65 mAh which yields about 3 hours of playtime while DOT, FireFlies, and Earin supply about 1, 2, and 3 hours of playback, respectively. Further maximizing its power via a charging bank with 2000 mAh, UNICO’s playtime increased up to 24 hours, while its competition can only increase about 7, 9, and 15 hours. It also uses Bluetooth 4.2 while its competition uses 4.0 which means it should not suck the life out of your paired device as quickly.

In addition, the Chicago-based ear buds can pair up to two devices at one time while each ear piece can operate independently or as a unit.

UNICO can be yours for $85 on Indiegogo before retailing at a MSRP of $110, which is at least $39 cheaper than its competition. The buds will ship to backers in October 2016.
