It’s already time again for CanJam NYC. The 2025 edition of the event will take place in Times Square on February 22nd and 23rd, and there’s a ton of new gear that we’re excited to see at the show. Below, you can find the headphones, IEMs, and audio gear we’re looking forward to trying out the most at CanJam NYC 2025.
Headphones:
Abyss JOAL
Like many companies, Abyss Headphones will have a new product at this year’s CanJam NYC. The JOAL is a great headphone that we recently gave a glowing review. With its design that incorporates new looks, design principles that trickle down from the Diana series, and audio that is meant to make them the “jack of all listening,” the JOAL is not to be missed. At $1,895, its fun sound signature and exquisite build are sure to impress any visitors to the Abyss booth.
Meze Poet
Meze also released a new set of headphones in the leadup to CanJam. The Poet is a new $2,000 headphone that looks to blend superior build quality with a refined and relaxing sound signature. It uses the new Rinaro MZ6 isodynamic hybrid array driver and sports the Acoustic Metamaterial Tuning System that you may recognize from Dan Clark Audio. You’re sure to be impressed by its sound, and with its gorgeous looks, you can’t miss it on the convention floor.
Hifiman Unveiled Headphones
Last year was a major year for Hifiman, who released a full range of Unveiled headphones. Be sure to stop by Hifiman’s booth to listen to the stunning resolution and soundstage this new design is capable of. Whether it’s the Susvara, HE1000, or Arya Unveiled models, prepare to be amazed by the fully open back designs. And spoiler alert: you may want to try them with some of Hifiman and Goldenwave’s new DAC/amp products, which we’ll highlight later in this article.
IEMs:
ddHiFi E13P
You may know of ddHiFi’s accessories and cables, but here we want to highlight an exciting new set of IEM’s. In a collaboration with Moodrop, the E13P is a unique entrant to the in-ear space. At $200, this IEM has a cable that can’t be detached and terminates with a USB-C connection. With its own in-built decoder, you can listen to files as high as 32 bit and 384 kHz. With aerospace aluminum and a distinctive outer shell look, be sure to try the new IEM if you can.
Final S5000 and A6000
Final Audio has been busy developing some killer new IEM’s that you should be able to try out at CanJam. Two of our recent favorites are the S5000 and A6000. The S5000 looks to expand on the quality introduced in the S4000. The A6000 on the other hand looks to take the audio experience to the next level, mixing new features, like a braided crystal copper cable, with familiar build quality. At $ $439 and $479 respectively, the S5000 and A6000 are mid-fi entrants that we recommend checking out.
Letshuoer Mystic 8
At $989, the Mystic 8 is the first model in Letshuoer’s Mist series. With eight balanced armature drivers, the Mystic 8 goes for a soft sound that delivers detail with elegance. If you look closely, you’ll notice the “phantom cat” design, which is a visual representation of the sound signature on board. Elsewhere, you’ll notice silver patterns that represent a “misty veil.” These visually and sonically distinctive IEM’s will be on display at Letshuoer’s booth, so definitely try and check them out.
Amps/Sources:
Fiio K17 and S15
Fiio has quite a few new products to test out at this year’s CanJam, but we narrowed it down to two key ones that we’re interested in. First is the class AB K17 desktop DAC/amp, which comes in at $899. It uses dual AKM flagship DACs and its headphone amplifier stage has a 4,000mW+4,000mW output, meaning this is a great device for people who need a lot of clean power. It also has a cool, retro-inspired look that blends touchscreen capabilities with a vintage orange glow that gives it an old-school feel.
The S15 is much more modern looking. The high-res audio streamer and preamp uses a combo of AKM DAC chips (AK4191 and AK4499EX) to provide excellent audio over the airwaves. Based on Android and using a 7.84 inch color screen, the S15 looks to compete in a crowded market for streaming players. It comes in at $999, which sits just below their lauded R9 streamer. We think these two devices would make excellent stops on your CanJam to-do list.
Hifiman Goldenwave Serenade Wireless
We teased this new product from Hifiman earlier in the article. The Goldenwave Serenade DAC and headphone amplifier looks and sounds great. Using Hifiman’s Hymalaya Pro R2R system and Goldenwave’s Class-A amplifier technology, the Serenade offers excellent value. At $999, you get an advanced and sophisticated piece of equipment that can drive just about every headphone. Now with its new wireless capabilities, it can integrate into a streaming system with ease. So be sure to try it out at Hifiman’s booth.
Final Thoughts
CanJam NYC is an exciting event. Attendees have the opportunity to listen to new products and meet the people who make them. While these are some of our most anticipated products of this year’s convention, make sure to plan enough time to try everything you’re interested in. Here’s to a weekend of great fun and greater sound at CanJam New York!
