Update 11/14/2016: ADEL Earphones are now available via Indiegogo at a fraction of the cost thanks to their new model ADEL Drum with Bionic eardrums. ADEL Drum is fashioned just like Asius Technologies’ previous makes – Ambient, Control, and 1964 – with a thin, patented membrane that absorbs pneumatic pressures that cause hearing loss and prevent the speaker and eardrum from working optimally. This feature takes the excess pressure off of your eardrum which means the sound is no longer dampened. Users can play their music at a lower volume and in fact hear it a lot louder without damaging their hair cells. 

ADEL Drum is available in three different options.

10mm Drum – Single 10mm moving coil speaker. Delivers bass that exceeds top-of-the-line over ear headphones. Still capable of clear mids and highs, however the bass is adjusted and focused with the tensioner.

11mm Drum – Features a Cardas Audio moving coil speaker. This allows for very crisp and cohesive sound. The Cardas speaker incorporates a powerful Neodymium magnet, a patented technique that prevents performance degrading eddie-currents.

11mm Drum Hybrid – Uses the Cardas speaker, paired with a balanced armature speaker. The result:  great bottom end, smooth mids, and very present treble.

The cheapest ADEL earphones start at the Level 1 – Earlybird for $149 (MSRP $199). This package includes ADEL Second Eardrum with a 10mm moving coil speaker. Orders ship worldwide in February 2017.

Created by sound engineer to the stars (Diana Ross, KISS, Stevie Wonder), ADEL’s Stephen Ambrose makes increased volume and safe hearing possible with RealLoud, the world’s first and only patented audio technology that safely delivers a louder, more spacious and richer sound while minimizing the risk of hearing loss. Through research Ambrose found when the ear canal is sealed by an earbud, the speaker vibrations create acoustic pressure that is harmful when trapped. Tiny muscles around the eardrum actually tighten prematurely to reduce movement and deaden the sound which causes you to turn up the volume. RealLoud technology addresses the issue by adding a second eardrum into all the ADEL earphones and in-ear monitors. This second eardrum takes the punishment of the pneumatic pressure caused by sound in the ear canal, and delivers clear, crisp sound.

ADEL Control in-ear buds are designed with the ability to adjust ambiance level, in-ear impedance and bass response. It can be worn in both an in-line and over-ear position. ADEL Control features front and back large ADEL membranes. These membranes absorb harmful pneumatic pressures and allow users to accurately match the impedance of their eardrums to the high fidelity and extremely fast moving coil speakers of the buds.

The third make is the 1964|ADEL U-Series. These earphones are a universal alternative to their previous custom make earphones with ADEL membranes to eliminate the harmful pneumatic pressures caused by the movement of speakers.
