VETR Audio was initially started by brothers Derek and Sean Chappell with the intent of creating a stellar sounding speaker in a modern day chassis. These days the smaller, lighter, thinner, and basically non-existent your gadgets are, the better. Though, stereo speakers seem to retain their large frame and bulky build. But here comes the Chappell brothers to the rescue. That being said, these speakers are about as thick as paper with a girth of 1.3mm and a height and length of 11 inches by 6 inches. This sort of style makes the speaker quite versatile – unique enough to be the centerpiece at a party or thin enough to sit discreetly on your book shelf.

The exterior is sleek and possess a polished aesthetic. As the Chappell brothers make clear, no part of the stereo is made of plastic. In fact, the behind the embossed stainless steel panel that reads VETR, is the speaker comprised of paper thin twill weave carbon fiber panels that ensure full, rich sound.

As I previously mentioned, these paper thin speakers are said to deliver an impressive auditory experience. To better illustrate how so, take these numbers into account. The average conversation has an output volume of 60 dB, while a lawnmower reaches about 90 dB, and a concert is between 100 to 120 dB. PANL1 speakers reach a maximum output level of 115 dB. So, there’s that.
