Chord’s delivered to us the beloved Mojo, Hugo, and the better late than never poly. Now comes another promising DAC.
CES 2018 New Release Chord Qutest
Qutest looks similar to that of the Hugo, but it skips the headphone amplification. It acts as a “pure DAC” in that it does not contain headphone amplification or rechargeable batteries. It is designed solely to improve sound quality in the home.
Qutest is replacing 2Qute. It improves upon the old model with a precision-machined exterior from solid aircraft-grade aluminium billet. The circuit board is said to be better protected and in a position that deters from external vibration.
Chord Qutest features 2 – 384kHz BNC coaxial inputs, 1 – 192kHz optical input, 1 – 768kHz USB Type B Input, and 1 – RCA output.
No word on the price or when Chord Qutest will hit dealers, but trust we will keep you all updated.

About Chord Electronics: Chord Electronics first took flight from the aviation world, where engineering without limits means uncompromising standards. This concept designed by company owner John Franks has helped shaped our philosophy since the company’s inception in 1989. Our first amplifiers were supplied to the BBC, followed by world-leading studios including Abbey Road, Sony Music (New York) and later, The Royal Opera House.
Our reputation within the professional world generated demand for a domestic range encompassing the design, engineering and build standards demanded of the finest pro equipment. Today, we apply proprietary technologies to all of our British-made products and proudly deliver studio-grade audio performance across the entire Chord range.
