2018 CES Google Assistant Headphones, Displays, & Cars

This year’s CES was huge with launch of ___ of new devices, but the big talk of the event had to be Google Assistant and their … presence – especially since they’ve been noticeably absent years prior. The tech giant announced the integration of their personal assistant in a ton of new devices. So, here it is “2018 CES Google Assistant Headphones, TVs, Cars, & More Devices” list.

2018 CES Google Assistant Headphones, Displays, & Cars

Google Assistant is a little like Siri and Alexa, if you don’t already know. With the simple phrase “Hey Google” – which if you were in Vegas you would’ve seen plastered all around the city – calls upon the voice-activated companion who can tell you the weather for the day, current time, and so forth with the tap of a button. Google Assistant prior to CES was only found in Google’s Pixel Buds and the sort of recently launched Bose Quiet Comfort 35 II. Soon, we will have access to Google Assistant in a number of different headphones and other devices including TVs, cars, speakers, and more.

Headphones

Sony launched a few new Bluetooth-based buds with active noise cancelling. Two of the three models (truly wireless WF-SP700N and wireless WI-SP600N) will be equipped with Google Assistant thanks to a software update. These two headphones are also splashproof with an IP water resistant rating of IPX4. This update isn’t only for new headphones as older models like the WH-1000XM2, WI-1000X, WF-1000X, WH-CH700N, and WH-H900N will also benefit from the upgrade.

JBL just launched a suite of new wireless Everest headphones (JBL Everest 710GA over-ear headphones, 310GA on-ear headphones, and 110GA in-ear headphones) that’ll feature the Google Assistant built-into the hardware. These headphones will support a battery life between 8 to 25 hours, depending on the model.

Displays/ Speakers

Google-Assistant will also be integrated into JBL’s new speaker with digital display. This device is called JBL LINK View. It features an 8” high-definition display with a touch screen and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. JBl promises LINK View is as good a speaker as it is a display by providing excellent sound quality. The speaker unit also has Chromecast built-in, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, and a splashproof frame with an IP rating of IPX4. It is designed for use by consumers who “consume a large amount of content daily” since users can view pictures, stream audio and video, as well as ask questions, scan recipes, and video call with family and friends. Google Assistant will definitely be on-hand to activate these commands when you need to be hand-free. IMHO, LINK View sounds like an ideal device for the kitchen or family-centric areas of the home. LINK View will be available Summer 2018. Lenovo Smart will feature Google Assistant as well which is an 8-inch or 10-inch display and will access to Android Things OS. It can rotate your Google photos on display as well as access YouTube and a slew of other features. Lenovo Smart will also be available in Summer 2018. Additional displays to feature the technology include units by Sony and LG.

Cars

If you are in the market for new wheels, soon you’ll be be able to purchase a car with Google Assistant. This will be made possible by Android Auto, a mobile app developed by Google that allows the enhanced use of an Android device within a vehicle equipped with a compatible head unit which is already available on 400 cars, according to Forbes. The business site also advises Google is currently developing an easier way to access Google Assistant in automobiles rather so that a phone isn’t required.
