Bluesound has announced Apple Music support for its wireless speakers, stereo components, and soundbars through a free BluOS software update. Available starting October 20, 2026, the integration lets subscribers access Apple Music directly through the BluOS Controller app and stream music across compatible systems throughout their homes. The addition brings another major streaming service into BluOS, giving Apple Music subscribers a more direct way to use their existing subscriptions with Bluesound hardware.
Apple Music Is Now Integrated Into BluOS
With Apple Music available inside the BluOS Controller app, listeners can sign in to their accounts and access a catalog of more than 100 million ad-free songs. The service also offers personalized recommendations, expert-curated playlists, artist-hosted shows, and global radio programming. Playback is handled directly by the Bluesound Player, reducing reliance on a phone or tablet as the streaming source. Users can control their listening through the BluOS Controller app while the player streams the music itself. An active Apple Music subscription is required. Existing subscribers can get started by updating their compatible systems and signing in through the app.
Apple Music Multi-Room Playback on Bluesound
Multi-room listening is central to the announcement. Through BluOS, users can play Apple Music on a single compatible player or group multiple rooms and audio zones to share the same music throughout the home. The platform also supports playing different music in separate rooms. That flexibility extends across Bluesound’s different system types. A PULSE FLEX in the kitchen, a NODE connected to a living-room hi-fi setup, and a PULSE CINEMA beneath the television can all serve as access points for Apple Music. For listeners who already own several Bluesound products, the update adds Apple Music to the system they use for everyday listening without requiring additional hardware.
Direct Streaming Joins Existing AirPlay 2 Support
Apple Music integration builds on the Apple AirPlay 2 support already available within the BluOS platform. The new option lets subscribers access the service directly through the BluOS Controller app, with music streamed by the player. For Apple Music users considering a Bluesound system, this adds another way to manage playback alongside the platform’s existing streaming options. It also brings Apple Music into the same control app used to organize BluOS players and room groups.
Support Extends Beyond Bluesound Devices
The announcement also includes compatible BluOS devices from other audio manufacturers. Alongside Bluesound, Apple Music support is available on compatible BluOS-enabled products from:
- NAD Electronics
- PSB Speakers
- DALI Loudspeakers
- Cyrus
- Monitor Audio
This expands the update’s reach beyond Bluesound-branded speakers and components to listeners using BluOS within other supported audio systems.
Bluesound Apple Music Update
Apple Music support is available beginning October 20, 2026, through a free BluOS software update for compatible Bluesound Players and other supported BluOS-enabled devices. An active Apple Music subscription is required to use the service. For Apple Music subscribers, the update makes Bluesound a more convenient option for connected home listening, combining direct streaming, centralized app control, and flexible multi-room playback.
