Bowers and Wilkins P9 Signature

With 50 years behind them, Bowers and Wilkins releases their largest over-ear headphone to date. Meet Bowers and Wilkins P9 Signature.

New Release: Bowers and Wilkins P9 Signature

The P9 was specially crafted with the finest in engineering methods and materials, as it was designed by their usual team Steyning Research Establishment. As the English company has said, “SRE is the heart of Bowers & Wilkins and the mind and soul that creates the products people love.”

The P9 definitely looks like it’ll be a new favorite of B&W products. The ear cups and headband are crafted with genuine Italian Saffiano leather by Scabrenta. That leather is composed with a stamping method which creates a unique cross-hatch finish. The headband and ear cups are built in a suspended fashion, de-coupled from one another. This reduces distortion in your music caused by vibrations from the headband to the ear cup. That isn’t the only reason the P9 is said to provide clear and accurate audio. The headphones are outfitted with acoustic cabinets refined using Finite Element Analysis which allows the acoustic environment to better drive the unit.

The drivers within the P9 were specially engineered within a suspension system that enables it to provide precise and clear audio in both the low and high ends. That being said, these headphones use 40 mm drivers to resonate across a frequency response range of 2 – 30,000 Hertz. The drivers have also been angled to provide a more authentic auditory experience so your sound is aligned in front of you rather than the side.

Additional specs to note is an impedance of 22 ohms, a nylon damped cone with acoustic coating, changeable ear cushions, a collapsible design, and a detachable 3.5 mm cable. For those who have the iPhone 7, you can receive a free Lightning jack compatible cable once your headphones are registered on the website. The cable will be made available in early 2017 while the Bowers and Wilkins P9 Signature headphones are currently available for pre-order now for $899.99. The P9 Signature will be available in select retailers mid-October.
