Brainwavz Krudul Duo Earphone Hanger Review

Yesterday I took a gander at the new BLU-300 from Brainwavz.  But today I’m testing out the new Brainwavz Krudul Duo – a $14.99 earphone management system for a wall or computer monitor.

Constructed from die-cast aluminum, the Krudul Duo comes with two parts.  One earphone hook attaches to wall (or any other upright, flat surface), while the other attaches to the back of a computer monitor.

Both pieces utilize 3M VHB adhesive strips, so these things don’t fall off once secured.

Featuring a keyhole-like opening for the earphones, cables are never pinched or pressed.  As a result, there is no wear-and-tear on the cabling – the biggest detriment to earphone lifespan.

Most earphone cable management systems seem low-quality at best, but the die-cast aluminum construction feels sophisticated and polished, yet light.  Add to this the fact that you’re getting two different earphone hooks for just $14.99 and you’ve got one heck of a deal.

Performance

For my own purposes, I find the monitor earphone hanger easily fits my go-to in-ear monitors, the Mackie MP-240.  Granted, the Mackies seem a little bulkier and easily fit into the monitor clip, but smaller earbuds work just as well.

Now, maybe you’re thinking:  my earphones are wireless.  Why do I need a monitor clip?

Well, I too like the ease-of-use that comes with wireless earphones.

As the vertical clip is easily fixed to a wall or any other upright surface, I stuck it above the light switch next to my front door in my apartment.  As I rush out the door in the morning to begin yet another awesome day of headphone and headphone-related reviews, I never forget to snag my Bluetooth setup.

Recommnedations

Not everyone will need the Krudul Duo earphone hangers.  Then again, in the purest sense of the word, few people really need earphones.  But thanks to the Krudul Duo’s low price, it’s cheap enough to buy on a whim.  And that won’t disappoint, as this sturdy accessory isn’t just well-made, but looks good, too.

Really, the only scenario where this earphone hanger system wouldn’t benefit someone is in the case that they’re using truly wireless.  (In which case, that person has bigger issues – like keeping the earphones charged, or getting them to maintain a connection).

As someone who can be a little rough on his cables, though, I can honestly say that the Krudul Duo probably saves me some decent money in the long run.  And this is especially true if you’ve invested in more expensive cables from companies like Alo Audio or Ares.

Final Analysis

Despite the negligible price of just $14.99, the Brainwavz Krudul Duo earphone hanger strikes me as a particularly well-designed accessory for any workstation where earphones see even occasional use.  For those folks who rock multiple earphones for different uses, it makes even more sense.
