This is probably the most essential accessory ever! Meet BTunes, making your wired headphones wireless.

BTunes, Make Your Wired Headphones Wireless

Being tethered to your headphones like a leash is a thing of the past with BTunes. The small Bluetooth-enabling adapter uses a 2.5mm or 3.5mm jack to plug into your headphones. For this you will obviously need a set of cans with a detachable cable. The attachment uses Bluetooth 4.0 technology to communicate with your cellphone or other smart devices.

Moreover, BTunes has the ability to pair with two devices at once, like a smartphone and tablet. If your cellphone rings while you are streaming a video on your tablet, audio will begin to stream to your cellphone. Once you end the call, audio from your tablet will stream back through your headphones. Nice!

Establishing itself as a “must have” accessory, BTunes makes your car’s audio wireless as well. Plug the jack into your car’s aux port and now you can make calls hands-free. Seriously, they thought of everything. BTunes audio system is fashioned using two high quality stereo audio codecs, aptX and AAC, over Bluetooth. aptX is designed to deliver CD-quality (16-bit / 44.1kHz) audio stream without loss of sound quality. AAC is best used with iOS based devices. However, for Android products, Bluetooth will use the best audio codec to ensure a quality listening session. The system is also created to suppress noise, echo and wind.

So, how long will all this hands-free goodness last? Up to 10 hours on on charge while giving you up to 33 feet of connectivity. Judging by photographs, my only vice is the size and shape of the unit. I would prefer a piece that was more conspicuous and less likely to be confused with a gaming mouthpiece. But, that is only so important.

Regardless, BTunes is compatible with most detachable headphones, specifically: Bose, Beats by Dre., Sennheiser, V-Moda, Monster, PSB, Sony, Skullcandy, AKG, Audio Technica, and more. To be sure, interested buyers can look to BTunes’s successfully crowdfunded Indiegogo campaign page. As of now, the portable unit is available for $69 USD plus shipping, which is worldwide.
