I’ve reviewed a handful of EarFun earbuds, and if you asked me to pick out a specific pair from a pile, I wouldn’t be able to, including the original Air Pro 4. The Air Pro 4+ is endearingly generic, but it is comfortable enough to make up for it. They are practical and ergonomic. Wearing these earbuds allows for unintrusive listening.

Design & Functionality

The Air Pro 4+ uses a hybrid dual-driver system, combining an ultra-light FeatherBA balanced armature driver with a powerful 10 mm composite dynamic driver. The drivers are aligned with an 11-degree offset inside a specially designed “Nano Side-Fitted Acoustic Architecture” (NSAA), a design intended to reduce interference between the drivers and deliver a clearer, full-spectrum sound.

In terms of ANC, the Ear Fun Air Pro 4+ features solid noise isolation for the price, although it has trouble attenuating high-end noise. Otherwise, the Air Pro 4+ is pretty advanced for $99 earbuds. They have AI-assisted adaptive ANC and environmental sound that detects obstructive noise in real time. It’s also advanced in its customizable controls and in-ear detection, which are highly responsive. Using the touch sensor controls on the earbuds gives you quick actions with only a slight delay.

Bluetooth

On the connectivity side, the earbuds run on Qualcomm’s QCC3091 chipset with Bluetooth 6.0 and support high-resolution wireless audio codecs (including LDAC, aptX Lossless, and LE Audio/LC3), enabling near-CD quality sound over Bluetooth. The soundstage conveys proper movement from left to right, even when hard barriers are easy to notice.

Low End

The Air Pro 4+ has a warm, thick bass with a fair amount of control. It’s easy for wireless earphones in this price range to have a muddier bass tone, but the Air Pro 4+ is surprisingly clean. It has an impressive bloom that will stand out to any bass lover, but it’s also a tight sound that separates itself from the low-mids. There’s not exactly a ton of depth to these frequencies, as everything pools to the surface, but the texture feels richer than most other wireless earbuds in this price range.

Mids

While definitely a V-shaped sound signature, the Air Pro 4+ has some impressive highlights in the midrange. Instruments have a simplistic level of clarity, but there’s actually some good definition here. Sound elements appear individualized in the mix, showcasing a roomy presentation that makes the Air Pro 4+ a more capable true wireless product than a lot of other earphones. Vocals are the most resolving area of the frequency response, featuring clear performances that appear intimate and immersive. You don’t get much note definition, but the veiled layer of texture doesn’t feel hollow. It’s a bit thin, but never muffled.

Highs

The treble is neither harsh nor detailed. It features a highly consumable range of tonal clarity without much height or fullness. There’s a clear clickiness to the timbre that allows for slightly more airiness, but the upper-highs are rolled off significantly. Everything is easy to digest, and even exhibits a fair level of gain, but its ability is quite plain.
