Fireside Audiobox Literally Lights Music on Fire

Fireside Audiobox

It’s always alluring to stare into a campfire, watching the flames lick to and fro in the night. Now, you can bring that magical experience inside your home accompanied by music with Fireside Audiobox.

Fireside Audiobox Literally Lights Music on Fire

Using Bluetooth technology and propane, Fireside Audiobox creates a unique and ever-changing dancing flames that are synchronized to the music emitting from the speakers. Founder Tyron Hazen mapped audio waves within the aluminum tube that produces the fire exhibition and found a few spots along its length that would produce the most responsive and dramatic flame effects. The music and flames are then coordinated “to provide a mesmerizing experience, with unique flame-signatures and patterns for each track on your playlist” describes Fireside Audiobox. Further adding,  with their flame variations “no two songs are the same.”

Hazen was inspired to create Fireside Audiobox while working in a maker-space in San Diego. He was in the business of learning prototyping and fabrication and wanted to create a project that required the use of all areas as well as the machines in his space. Using his physics background and interest in fire (pyro much?) he developed the beautiful and enchanting centerpiece that is Fireside Audiobox.

I truly think this item is perfect for the Fall and Winter seasons. However, those who purchase a unit through Kickstarter won’t receive it until April 2017. Regardless, it currently is retailing at the early bird price of $349. It will ship anywhere in the world and include a glass shield, a power charger for the internal battery, and instructions for very simple set-up and maintenance. Be advised, you’ll have to buy your own propane canister.
