MEE Audio Matrix3 Wireless Headphones

Update 11/16/2016: MEE Audio Matrix 3 is now available online for $119.99.

An affordable, durable, and great sounding wireless headphones is getting an update. Meet the third generation MEE Audio Matrix3.

MEE Audio Matrix3 Wireless Headphones

The third generation headphone has a more refined, yet comfortable look than its predecessor, showcasing a mix between soft leather padding and fabric swatches on the ear cups and headband. The ear cushions are stuffed with memory foam so the headphones are bound to feel as soft as they look. The ear cups swivel, as they did before in the previous model. However, a bonus is a collapsible frame in the Matrix3. This makes them better suited for the everyday commuter. The entire frame appears to be slightly slimmer and exhibits a more polished aesthetic. I’m feelin’ it!

Equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 technology and aptX and AAC codecs wearers can expect to hear HD-quality audio, like that of a CD. And the same can be said on the receiving end, as the headphones feature a built-in microphone. Did I mention the headphones can be paired with two devices simultaneously?!

The battery is said to provide an impressive 24 hours of battery life while only requiring 2 hours of charge time. Standby talk-time is 1000 hours so these cans are in it for the long haul.

I’ve always viewed the Matrix2 as a moderately priced wireless headphone that offered a great, full sound with a moderate bass reach. I imagine the Matrix3 will sound better. Actually, it will sound better. The inner hardware has been upgraded. The ear cups now hold new high-resolution drivers that are 40mm in size. These drivers are said to deliver “balance, clarity, and accuracy never previously heard from a wireless headphone, satisfying even the most discerning listeners” across a frequency range of 20-20,000 Hertz.

If MEE Audio’s Matrix3 sounds like your kind of wireless headphone it’ll be available sometime this September for $119.99.
