Safe and sound has never been more true. Plugfones are federal approved earplugs that safely play music – hands-free.
Meet Plugfones, Earplugs with Music
After six years in producing wired Plugfones, the Utah-based audio company is back with a hands-free prototype, Plugfones LIBERATE. Designed to block out the sound active noise-cancelling can’t reach, the bright-colored earplugs were created with the working class in mind. The co-founder, Shaun, began working in a factory where he had to wear earplugs for safety reasons, but found himself bored without music. Hence, Plugfones were born.
The wire-free model comes in two different colors with varying lengths and properties. The yellow and blue model is longer and only plays music. The shorter black and grey version includes a microphone.
LIBERATE operates off of Bluetooth 4.0 technology equipped with a fully sweat-proof design, a water resistant USB charging connector, a noise-reducing in-line mic for voice calls, and a controller to switch back and forth between tracks and adjust volume. Truly keeping the blue-collar worker in mind, a fully charged battery powers LIBERATE for up to 8 hours.
When it comes to safety, the earplugs are certified by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Plugfones are guaranteed to protect your ears.
As the company states, “If we were running a bulldozer with an average noise level of 100 dB, without hearing loss protection we could run into trouble very quickly. If we correctly use our Plugfones… the 100 dB is reduced to 91 dB which is about the same noise level as an electric shaver or TV.”
That sounds nice!
The regular retail price for LIBERATE Bluetooth earplugs with 2 sets of silicon ear tips, 2 sets of foam ear tips, and a USB charging cable will run for $99, but interested buyers can pledge $69 to save some cash and receive the same package before their Kickstarter campaign ends in the next 16 hours.
Plugfones has already surpassed their goal of $35,000 with 4,585 backers crowdfunding $393,110. The musical earplugs are expected to ship in June.
