Native Instruments Launches Traktor MX2: The Next Evolution in Portable DJing

Native Instruments has officially announced the Traktor MX2, a next-generation 2-channel DJ controller designed for DJs at every level, from aspiring beginners to touring professionals. The MX2 delivers a streamlined, performance-ready layout paired with Traktor Pro 4 software, a built-in 24-bit/96kHz audio interface, and a two-month Beatport Streaming trial for new users.

This new controller aims to give DJs the power to craft professional-sounding mixes anywhere, whether at a house party, live club set, or mobile event.

A Creative Toolbox for Every DJ

The Traktor MX2 is built around the idea of expressive, hands-on performance. With an intuitive design and an array of effects, MX2 enables DJs to shape sound in real time.

Simplified Mixer FX

DJs can instantly add drops, buildups, and transitions using nine one-knob effects, including filters, reverbs, and delays. Each dial makes it easy to build tension and release energy on the dancefloor.

Deep Deck FX

For those who want advanced sound manipulation, Traktor MX2 includes over 40 studio-grade effects spread across two assignable FX units. These can be layered, stretched, or transformed for dynamic live remixes.

16 RGB Pads for Creative Expression

The 16 RGB performance pads offer multiple modes that expand creative options for DJs:

  • Hotcues: Instantly jump to key track moments or trigger drops.
  • Flux Loops: Create seamless, stuttered loops that keep the rhythm in sync.
  • Pattern Player: Turn pads into a step sequencer for adding hi-hats, snares, or percussion on the fly.
  • Stems: Split and remix live using isolated vocals, drums, bass, and instrument tracks.

Each pad is fully illuminated and customizable, letting DJs personalize their workflow and visuals for any environment.

Designed for Performance

Traktor MX2 is engineered for both visibility and precision. The illuminated bottom shell offers real-time visual cues, alerting DJs when tracks are ending or looping, so performances stay tight and controlled, even in low-light venues.

Two touch-sensitive jog wheels provide accurate control for scratching, nudging, and browsing, with Turntable and Jog modes for different play styles.

High-Fidelity Sound, Anywhere

Under the hood, the MX2 includes a built-in 24-bit/96kHz audio interface, ensuring clear, punchy playback in any setting. With iZotope’s Ozone Maximizer integrated directly into Traktor Pro 4, users can expect loud, distortion-free mixes that maintain professional polish.

And with Beatport Streaming, new users can immediately access millions of tracks and curated playlists, making it easier than ever to start mixing without building a large local library.

Traktor MX2 is available for $449 directly from Native Instruments.
