Audio-Technica has announced the introduction of its ATH-G1WL wireless and ATH-G1 premium gaming headsets. These headphones take design cues from the ATH-M50x.  So while these headphones may offer solid sound, they won’t skimp on comfort, either.

As such, both headphones will appeal to eSports players and casual gamers alike, allowing anyone to enjoy their gaming sessions in style.

“Our new ATH-G1WL and ATH-G1 deliver powerful, expansive audio quality that lets gamers experience all the sonic impact of home gaming, online streaming and eSports.” -Bob Peet, Audio-Technica US Marketing Manager

The wired ATH-G1 (SRP: US$169.00) is compatible with PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and all other gaming platforms with a 3.5 mm headset connector. Once plugged in, it’s a gaming headset, and will allow you to hear noises and sounds while you game.

Specially-tuned large-diameter 45mm drivers bring precise, clear sound to in-game audio, with just a hint of bass emphasis.  Meanwhile, the 1,300mW input capacity works great with dedicated sound cards to deliver a full-force gaming experience. There’s also a detachable boom microphone. Engineered for accurate voice communication and command, the ATH-G1’s hyper-cardioid microphone will not pick up distractions, like keyboards or mice.

Thanks to the detachable microphone, the ATH-G1 offers two headphones in one.  Just nix the mic to turn the headphone  into an on-the-go listening solution.  The 6.6’ cable’s inline remote features volume and mute controls and a Y-type stereo headset cable is also included.

Equipped with the same 45mm drivers and specially-engineered detachable microphone as the ATH-G1, with the added flexibility of stable, low-latency 2.4GHz wireless connectivity, the ATH-G1WL (SRP: US$249.00) is convenient, comfortable and cutting-edge. It also adds virtual surround sound, for an even more immersive 3D audio gaming experience that places you in the center of the action.

With 15 hours of battery life, the headset will last through the longest gaming sessions – but it will also work while charging. It features controls for surround sound, volume and mute on the earcup. The ATH-G1WL is compatible with laptops and PCs via its wireless USB Type A transceiver. A pair of extra earpads is in the box for your future replacement.
