Sennheiser has announced its latest innovation for discerning listeners: the HDB 630, a headphone engineered to bring uncompromised audiophile performance anywhere you go. Drawing inspiration from the acclaimed MOMENTUM 4 design, the HDB 630 elevates the experience with a custom 42mm dynamic transducer built in Sennheiser’s world-class Tullamore facility. The result is a headphone that delivers the clarity, agility, and tonal balance of high-end wired systems, now available in a portable, wireless form.
Designed for high-performance audio enthusiasts, the HDB 630 balances craftsmanship and comfort with advanced acoustic tuning. Its refined midrange and controlled bass make it ideal for both critical listening and casual enjoyment, while its smooth frequency response ensures natural, fatigue-free sound.
High-Resolution Sound, Wired or Wireless
At its core, the HDB 630 features a high-resolution digital audio engine capable of handling up to 24-bit/96 kHz playback via USB-C or analog connections. Wireless listeners benefit from Bluetooth 5.2 with aptX Adaptive support, ensuring consistent fidelity and stability across compatible devices.
Recognizing that only about 16% of smartphones support native high-res wireless audio, Sennheiser includes a USB-C transmitter dongle, instantly upgrading most modern phones and tablets to deliver aptX Adaptive audio. This thoughtful inclusion dramatically expands access to high-resolution wireless listening, no specialized hardware required.
Advanced Sound Customization via Smart Control Plus
With the new Smart Control Plus app, Sennheiser introduces the most advanced personalization features yet seen in its headphone lineup. Listeners can fine-tune their sound through a 5-band equalizer or take precision control with a new Parametric EQ, adjusting bandwidth (Q), filter type, and gain for each frequency.
The app also features a Crossfeed function inspired by Sennheiser’s flagship HE 1 system, which blends the left and right channels for a more natural, speaker-like presentation. Future updates will add QR code sharing for presets, enabling audiophiles to exchange custom tunings with others in the community.
Designed for Travel and Everyday Listening
Engineered for life on the move, the HDB 630 features Adaptive Noise Cancellation and a sealed over-ear design that effectively blocks external noise. Battery life reaches up to 60 hours, with quick charging delivering seven hours of playback in just 10 minutes.
Comfort is also a highlight: the ear cushions are made from IDEATEX Japanese Protein Leatherette, known for its softness and durability. The package includes a travel case, USB-C charging cable, 3.5mm analog cable, airline adapter, and the USB-C Bluetooth transmitter.
The Sennheiser HDB 630 will be available for pre-order starting October 8th, with official release on October 21st. It will retail for $499.95 and can be found at Audio46.
