Rock Jaw Audio Headphones Are Open and Closed-Back

Switch between an open or closed-back listening experience with the simple twist of your ear cup using Sentio Rock Jaw Audio headphones.

Rock Jaw Audio Headphones Are Open and Closed-Back

The ventilation system in open-back headphones allows your music to breathe. It is no longer compressed – rather, giving way to stellar spatial recreation and more natural sounding elements across lows, mids, and highs. However, open-back headphones aren’t ideal for public spaces and the day-to-day commuter. Rock Jaw Audio headphones are designed to give you all the pluses of an open and closed back headphones in one chassis.

The ear cups sort of resemble a gigantic screw from a nut-and-bolt set with small exposed ventilation units. This is the headphone in the open-back position. Simply twist and voila – closed-back headphones. The ear cups are designed with aluminum and stainless steel for a lightweight design that is said to provide “award-winning sound signature.”

That is achieved by the ear cups holding two drivers – a 30 mm and 50 mm driver to provide more of a 3-D audio experience. Sentio uses the 30 mm driver to retain and accentuate trebles, mids, and highs, while the 50 mm driver is able to deliver a deep bass response. Together, the headphones are made to ensure all parts of your music are heard. Sentio will reach a frequency response between 19 – 21,000 Hertz on an impedance of 32 ohms.

The ear cushions are made of a soft protein leather for long listening sessions and ships in a hard-grade carry case. Rock Jaw Audio held a Kickstarter campaign in which backers were able to opt into making their headphones cable-free, equipped with Bluetooth technology. They also sold an optional boom mic to further customize your headphones into a gaming headset.

Rock Jaw Audio’s campaign has since ended. Those who were able to back the campaign will receive their orders in September 2016. To date, RockJawAudio.com does not have Sentio listed to purchase. I have a feeling those of you interested in purchasing these headphones should look out for updates once Sentio has shipped to previous Kickstarter backers.
